Tangshan is named after Dacheng Mountain (formerly Tangshan) in the central urban area. In Tang dynasty, Li Shimin (the emperor) went to Eastern Campaign two times and stationed them in Dacheng Mountain. From then on, Dacheng Mountain was called Tangshan because the mountain was granted first name of Tang by the emperor. Tangshan is a modern coastal city. Located in the center of Bohai Bay (south of Tangshan is the famous Tangshan Bay), its south faces the Bohai Sea, north part lies beyond Yan Mountain, adjacent to Qinhuangdao City in the east, and the west part is close to Beijing and Tianjin. It is such an extremely important place and corridor connected north and northeast China .Tangshan is also the economic center of Hebei Province and is one of the most prosperous cities in China.

Tangshan is with a long history. Since the 1950's, more than 20 Neolithic sites were found in Tangshan area. Three of them, namely Dacheng Mountain, Qianxi Xizhai Villiage, Anxin Villiage of Qian’an are the representative sites, which indicates that the historical period of human civilization has already begun here at that time. The archaeological finds in 1990s further proved that the Tangshan people have already created a brilliant culture and the Luanhe River Basin is one of the cradles of ancient civilization.

清東陵坐落在河北省唐山市的遵化市境，西距北京市區(qū)125公里，據(jù)說是順治到此打獵時(shí)選定的，康熙2年（1663年）開始修建。陵區(qū)南北長125公里、寬20公里，四面環(huán)山，正南煙燉、天臺兩山對峙，形戌寬僅50公尺 的谷口，俗稱龍門口。清代在此陸續(xù)建成217座宮殿牌樓，組成大小15座陵園，諸陵園以順治的孝陵為中心，排列于昌瑞山南麓，均由宮墻、隆恩殿、配殿、方城明樓及寶頂?shù)冉ㄖ?gòu)成。其中方城神道連成一氣，沿途大紅門、大碑樓（圣德神功碑樓）、石像生、龍鳳門、七孔橋、小碑樓（神道碑樓）、隆恩門、隆恩殿、方城明樓等建筑井然有序，主次分明。清東陵屬全國重點(diǎn)文物保護(hù)單位，是中國最后一個(gè)王朝首要的帝王后妃陵墓群，也是中國現(xiàn)存規(guī)模最大、體系最完整的古帝陵建筑，共建有皇陵五座—順治帝的孝陵、康熙帝的景陵、乾隆帝的裕陵、咸豐帝的定陵、同治帝的惠陵，以及東（慈安）、西（慈禧）太后等后陵四座、妃園五座、公主陵一座，計(jì)埋葬14個(gè)皇后和136個(gè)妃嬪。清東陵是中國封建皇陵的集大成者，是我國古代勞動(dòng)人民智慧的結(jié)晶，它綜合體現(xiàn)了中國傳統(tǒng)的風(fēng)水學(xué)、建筑學(xué)、美學(xué)、哲學(xué)、景觀學(xué)、喪葬祭祀文化、宗教、民俗文化等文化，具有重要的歷史價(jià)值、藝術(shù)價(jià)值和科學(xué)價(jià)值，是中華民族和全人類的文化遺產(chǎn)。

Located in Zunhua County，Tangshan City, Hebei Province, Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty is 125 km west of Beijing, which is said to be selected by Emperor Shunzhi when he hunted there and started to build in the 2nd year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1663 A.D.) The tomb area extends 125 km from the north to the south and 20 km from the east to the west. It is surrounded by hills and mountains with Yandun Mountain and Tiantai Mountain towering against each other right in the south, a 50-meter-wide valley mouth was formed, which is generally known as Long Menkou (Dragon Doorway). In Qing dynasty, 217 palaces and decorated archways have been built one by one, which formed 15 cemeteries of various sizes. Xiaoling, the tomb of Emperor Shunzhi, the center of the structure, is aligned as the axis of cemeteries at the foot of the south section of Changrui Mountain, with other tombs surrounding it. All these cemeteries contain palace walls, Longen Halls, Side Halls and Fang Chengming Buildings and Baodings (the grave mound), etc. Fang Chengming building is the highest construction in the tomb area. There's a stele on which carved the names of persons who were buried there with Han, Manchurian, and Mongolian languages inside the building. Behind the building, there is Baoding (the grave mound pile) under which there is the underground palace to shelter coffins. A 6-kilometer long and 12-meter wide sacred way links the Stone Archway at the south tip with the Baoding of Xiaoling in the north end, along which there are such buildings as Grand Red Gate, Grand Archway, Stone statuary, Dragon and Phoenix Gate, Seven Holes Bridge, Small Archway (archway of sacred way), Longen door, Longen Hall and Fang Chengming Building, etc. All these buildings are placed in good order and with primary and secondary trenchancy. Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty belongs to national priority cultural relic protection sites, which is not only the most important extant tomb complexes for emperors and his families of China’s last Dynasty, but also the largest in scale and completed in system in existing Chinese ancient tombs. Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty devoted to 5 emperors- Xiaoling for emperor Shunzhi, Jingling for emperor Kangxi, Yuling for emperor Qianlong, Dingling for emperor Xianfeng, and Huling for emperor Tongzhi, 4 empresses, including two empress Dowager Cixi and Ci’an, 5 imperial concubines, 1 princess, total are 14 empresses and 136 imperial concubines.

萬佛園
萬佛園即燕山塔陵，是中國唯一坐落在世界文化遺產(chǎn)保護(hù)區(qū)清東陵風(fēng)水墻之內(nèi)的花園式林園，其風(fēng)水與清東陵一脈相承。因該建筑位于燕山腳下，具有陵墓性質(zhì)，得名燕山塔陵。后有多座佛像建成，又稱萬佛園。這里結(jié)合了中華民族五千年傳統(tǒng)文化及佛學(xué)、道學(xué)、儒學(xué)與現(xiàn)代園林藝術(shù)，是集人文景觀、旅游、參學(xué)為一體的勝地。萬佛園有“十景、九寶”。十景為：孝經(jīng)碑、風(fēng)水球、長生殿、十二生肖、金水橋、善逝八塔、放生地、 金寶塔、隆福閣—唐山地震紀(jì)念堂、二十九軍紀(jì)念碑；九寶為：孝經(jīng)影壁儒家寶、活佛舍利無價(jià)寶、皇家風(fēng)水吉地寶、十二生肖周易寶、佛祖八塔鎮(zhèn)園寶、金身大佛寶中寶、大殿木雕傳世寶、抗日英雄民族寶、地震靈牌之最寶。山門巨匾“燕孝經(jīng)碑長16米，高4.5米，漢白玉石建造，碑上銘刻孔子的《孝經(jīng)》。碑兩側(cè)各有一塊耳碑，分有刻有青龍，白虎圖案。孝經(jīng)碑后風(fēng)水池內(nèi)有風(fēng)水球重6噸，借助水力隨浪花轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)。
Ten Thousand Buddhas Garden
Ten Thousand Buddhas Garden, i.e. Yan Mountain Tower Tomb, is the only garden-style landscape located inside the Fengshui Wall of Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty (world cultural heritage site), therefore it’ s Fengshui derives from the same origin of Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty. The garden is located in the foot of Yan Mountain and with the character of tomb, so it is named as Yan Tower Tomb. Because later there are many figures of Buddha constructed, it is also known as Ten Thousand Buddhas Garden. The landscape gathers up Chinese five thousand years traditional cultures and the Buddhism, Confucianism and modern gardens art, which is a resort combining with humanities landscape, tourism, Buddhism study. There are “Ten Scenes”, and “Nine Treasures” in the garden. Ten Scenes are: Stele of Xiaojing, Ball of Fengshui, Palace of Eternal Life， Twelve Chinese Zodiac Signs, Bridge of Jinshui, Eight Towers of Shanshi, Place of Relief Captive Animals, Tower of Jinbao, Pavillion of Longfu-Memorial Hall for Tangshan Earthquake, Monument of No. 29 Army; Nine Treasures are: Confucians Treasure of Screen Wall with Filial Piety Classic, Invaluable Treasure of Living Buddha Relics, Luck Place Treasure in Imperial Fengshui, Zhouyi Treasure of Twelve Chinese Zodiac Signs, Garden Treasure of Buddha Eight Towers, Most Valuable Treasure Big Buddha with Golden Body, Hall Handed Down Treasure Wood Carving, National Treasure Anti-Japanese Hero, Precious Treasure of Earthquake Spirit Tablet. The huge plaque, Yanxiaojing stele, is 16 meters in Length and 4.5 meters in height, which is made of white marble carved with Filial Piety Classic of Confucian. There is one side stele on each side of the huge plaque caved with green dragon and white tiger. Behind the plaque there is the Fengshui pool with 6 tons weight Fengshui ball rolling with the support of water power inside it.

景忠山
宗教勝地景忠山位于遷西縣境內(nèi)，海拔610米，清康熙帝曾御題“天下名山”，景區(qū)面積15平方公里，有四帥殿、三道茶棚、碧霞元君廟、東佛閣等大小景點(diǎn)30余處。此處集佛、道、儒三教于一山，佛道文化博大精深，源遠(yuǎn)流長。山上古巖崢嶸，蒼松蔽日，峽谷清幽，云霧飄渺，1872級臺階直達(dá)峰頂，自然景觀鬼斧神工，風(fēng)格獨(dú)具，素有“靈山秀色”之美稱。
作為京東聞名的宗教圣地，景忠山既有佛教的佛祖殿、菩薩殿。四 帥殿，又有道教的碧霞元君殿、玉皇殿、真武大帝殿，還有以祭儒家推崇的三位杰出忠臣諸葛亮、岳飛、文天祥的“三忠祠“，始有廟宇建筑可上溯到宋代。明嘉靖三年，馬永又于“三忠祠”東側(cè)建碧霞宮、奉元君像。之后，薊鎮(zhèn)總兵戚繼光先后進(jìn)行了兩次大規(guī)模修繕。從此，景忠山香火日益興盛。清順治皇帝和康熙皇帝對景忠山格外垂青，他們曾經(jīng)6次登臨景忠山，不僅撥給大量田產(chǎn)帑銀，修復(fù)山上山下廟宇建筑，而且御賜一尊十六斤四兩的金娘娘及《大藏經(jīng)》一堂4500余卷，此外還召景忠山和尚入京城大內(nèi)講佛，且每議要政都到景忠山禮佛問卜。據(jù)碑刻記載，順治立太子，就是在景忠山問卜后而欽定的。景忠山在清初實(shí)際被看做皇室家廟。由此，景忠山聲譽(yù)雀起、名馳天下。景忠山廟宇建筑逐步形成了當(dāng)時(shí)廟宇七十二，金面百六尊，山腳山中峰頂完整的體系。但后來多年歷經(jīng)戰(zhàn)亂和76年唐山大地震，景忠山建筑幾乎蕩然無存。從1992年開始，當(dāng)?shù)厝嗣窈驼畬爸疑焦沤ㄖM(jìn)行了大規(guī)模修復(fù)。景忠山山門、四帥殿、登山盤道、三道茶棚、朝仙門、望海樓、碧霞元君殿、東佛殿、南天門等主要建筑已復(fù)建完成，并接待游客。
Jingzhong Mountain

Jingzhong Mountain, known as a religious sacred place, has Buddha, bodhisatva Temple and Four Generals Temple of Buddhism, Jade Maiden of Mountain Tai Temple, Yuhuang Temple, Zhenwu Temple of Taoism, as well as the three prominent loyal ministers Zhu Geliang, Yue Fei, Wen Tianxiang(respected by Confucian)'s "Sanzhong Temple". The beginning of the temple construction can be traced back to the Song Dynasty. In the 3rd year of Jiajing reign of the Ming dynasty, Mayong built Jade Maiden of Mountain Tai Temple and Fengyuan Statue on the east side of "Sanzhong Temple". Ever since Ji County General QI Jiguang conducted two large-scale repair works, Jingzhong Mountain become famous and worshiped by more people. Emperor Shunzhi and Kangxi of Qing dynasty especially favored this mountain and come here 6 times. The emperors allocated large number of land and public funds to repair the temple around the mountain, and presented a 8.2 kg golden goddess,4500 rolls "Tripitaka ". In addition, the emperors invite monks of Jingzhong Mountain to go to the palace and given Buddha speech. Every important proposal had to be consulted by Jingzhong Mountain Buddha’s divination. from the Jingzhong Buddha. In the early Qing Dynasty period, here was actually seen as royal family temple. As a result, Jingzhong Mountain becomes famous to the whole world. Its temple construction gradually formed a system of 72 temples, 106 gold statues, a complete style from foot, middle to the top of the mountain. However, years of war and 1976 Tangshan earthquake, the buildings of Jinghong Mountain was crashed into almost nothing left. Now the following i major buildings such as Main Gate, Four Generals Temple, Winding Path, Sandao Tea House, ChaoXian Gate, Wanghai Pavilion, Jade Maiden of Mountain Tai Temple, Eastern Buddha Temple, South Heaven Gate etc. have been repaired and open to the tourists.
